Dr. Martez Prince began his pharmacy career at the age of 16 as a pharmacy clerk at an independent pharmacy before attending Florida A & M University, where he graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2010 with his Doctorate in Pharmacy. Upon Graduating, Dr. Prince relocated to Charlotte, NC, to work for a big-box retailer as a community pharmacist.
After identifying corporate barriers that prevented Dr. Prince from impacting the patients in the manner he always envisioned, he decided to make his corporate exit to launch Premier Pharmacy and Wellness Center, that would earn him many awards in the area of pharmacy, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy, as well as the attention of Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey, who quoted his work as "A model for the country'.
In addition to his role as the CEO of Premier Pharmacy and Wellness Center, Dr. Prince serves on multiple community boards in addition to his role as Chairman of The Premier Foundation of NC in which he also founded in 2015 as a philanthropic arm to Premier Pharmacy and Wellness Center.

As the Executive Board President of the Premier Foundation of North Carolina, Ken Johnson leads a team of healthcare, finance, and I/T professionals. The team is focused on improving the financial, physical and mental wellness of the surrounding community.
Ken also serves an investment strategy analyst for Wells Fargo Investment Institute. There he is responsible for global equities strategy analysis and broader analysis of the global economy. He is often quoted in national media outlets and has appeared in interviews on National Public Radio (NPR). Prior to his current role, he served as a wealth planner for the Wells Fargo Private Bank where he worked with clients to develop custom wealth plans.
Ken is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. Ken earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Finance from Wayne State University.

Connie Evans is an Information Technology professional and Entrepreneur with having worked in her areas of expertise for over 17 years. A talent-driven professional, Connie has intense career experience in healthcare and the banking industry crafting the big-picture and driving execution for positive results. She also possesses recognized abilities to investigate and address undiscovered client needs to provide oversight for expedient resolutions in corporate settings and in her community. She’s an expert communicator with a proven ability to synthesize complex information and build rapport with clients and colleagues that has greatly assisted with her team’s success. Growing up under civil rights leaders, she has maintained a passion for serving and representing her community. She started C&B Enterprise to provide resources and bring people together through event planning, property management, and custom designs. C&B Enterprises latest endeavor includes the development of a restaurant and event center to drive resources to an under-served community.
Shawanda L Spencer, FNP

Shawanda S. Spencer is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the state of North Carolina to provide family-centered healthcare to patients of all ages. Along with her husband, Shawanda owns Kilgore Logistics, an Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP).
Shawanda earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University. Shawanda additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Bio Chemistry from the University of Rochester and Associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Nursing from Monroe Community and Central Piedmont Community College respectively. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate at Grand Canyon University.
In her spare time, Shawanda enjoys shopping, international travel and spending family time with her husband, George and their one year old daughter, Harper. She is an exercise enthusiast and loves cooking unique foods. Shawanda is a proud member of the Charlotte Chapter of The Links, Inc and sits on the board of The Center of the Future Academy.
Dr. Jaelyn Jones

Dr. Jaelyn Jones currently serves as the Parliamentarian on the PFNC Executive Board and has been an active volunteer since its inception. Dr. Jones is the Chief Compliance Officer and a Pharmacist at Premier Pharmacy and Wellness Center. She also conducts clinical research by monitoring clinical trials to ensure the safety and efficacy of new drugs before they hit the market. In her spare time, she loves to travel the world and experience different cultures. Dr. Jones is very passionate about leveraging her knowledge and networks to help narrow the economic and health disparities seen in our communities.
Ashley Payne-Bland

Technology Chair / Acting Secretary
Ashley Payne-Bland currently works at Wells Fargo Bank in Charlotte, NC as a Sr. Business Risk and Controls associate. She has been in the banking industry in various cyber security roles for over 9 years.
Ashley has earned many awards and recognition for community involvement. When she is not working, Ashley spends time volunteering with Crisis Assistance Ministry, Dress for Success, Second Harvest Food Bank and other local agencies. Ashley also dedicates time to the National Black MBA Association as a mentor to high school students and volunteers independently on the college level. Ashley is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she is actively involved in the community.
Ashley joined the board of Premier Foundation of North Carolina in 2017 as Secretary and Technology Chair. She is responsible for agenda and meeting notes, scheduling meetings, responding to email communications and setting up any technology needs for the foundation.
Aayla Alexander
UNC Charlotte (Clinical Social Worker)

Aayla Alexander is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her BA from Queens University of Charlotte in Psychology/Sociology and an MSW from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Upon graduation, Aayla served as a Post-MSW Fellow at UNC Chapel Hill where she was a staff therapist. She facilitates a group for African-American women, aimed at creating a safe space for open and honest dialogue about the experiences in their lives through a strengths-based lens. She is the recipient of the NASW-NC Presidents Award. Currently, Aayla serves as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at her alma mater, UNC Charlotte.
